WHAT IS MICROBLADING PROCEDURE AND HOW IS IT PERFORMED?

In Asia, Microblading is also known as eyebrow embroidery also known as feather strokes in Europe and allows everyone to improve the appearance of his/her brows.  This cutting edge procedure is used to give realistic hair stroke effects to eyebrows, enabling a thicker and fuller appearance without the need to apply makeup on a daily basic.  Most common reasons why people turn to microblading are to change the shape of their brows, to improve definition, to add color and density, as well as to replace brows that have been lost through medical treatment or over plucking.

The procedure is done using a hand tool, with a prepacked, sterile, single use, specially designed blade made up of a group of needles use in a tattoo machine.  With appropriate amount of pressure, the skin is scored and the pigment is deposited underneath the epidermis (outermost layer of skin) to create the most natural finish to your eyebrows.

HOW LONG DOES THE RESULT LAST?

This varies from person to person because skin type, diet, genetics and environmental factors can all contribute to how long the pigments will be retained.  For instance, sun bed use and sun exposure have a bearing on the pigment retention, but this can be prevented with proper protection.

As a guide, it could be anything between one to five years before a new treatment is required, although refresher color boosts are recommended for maintenance during this time. Once the color starts to change you will know that you are ready for your refresher color boost.

We offer discounted color boost rates from 6 – 18 months after the initial treatment. It is important to remember that semi-permanent make-up is a “low” not a “no” maintenance treatment.

CAN I GET MY PERFECTING/TOUCH UP APPOINTMENT SOONER THAN 4 WEEKS?

Touch up appointment should not be done earlier than 4 week after first appointment (procedure) as pigment color has not fully settled into the skin. Most important, this is to prevent scar damage, as the tissue requires time to completely heal.

IS TOUCH UP NECESSARY? HOW OFTEN?

Yes, a touch up appointment after 4 to 6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and outcome may vary.Certain areas may not pick up during the first appointment and will need to be refilled.Pigment color may need to be adjusted; brow thickness and more strokes can be added.Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up appointment as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your brows will be refined to ensure they look perfect and retain the color for the whole year.

Since microblading pigments are not implant in to the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the areas will naturally fade overtime.Microblading typically lasts 1 to 3 years, depends on skin type (normal, oily, dry…), ages.Skincare routine will also effect the lasting effect of the pigment, frequently tanning, using product with AHA or Glycolic Acid will fade faster as the skin resurface faster.Touch ups are recommended once every 12 to 18 months to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp. Some clients like to keep them fresh looking and come in before 12 months mark while other wait to 18 months.
