Eyeliner

An eye treatment is a three–part process usually completed within two appointments.

The price you are quoted will include all three stages.

THE CONSULTATION

The first part of the process is a consultation. This is normally done as part of your initial treatment, but can be done separately if you prefer. I will talk with you in great detail about the look you are trying to achieve and my recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. I listen, I respond, I advise.  Once we have an idea of the look you are aiming for, I will draw the eyeliner on with a makeup pencil. These can be drawn on and adjusted many times if necessary until you are happy!  I will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with what they are going to look like.

PERMANENT MAKEUP TREATMENT

Using a specialist, state of the art facial tattooing machine, Nouveau Contour, which works at a much lower frequency than a standard tattoo machine, I gently apply pigment to the eye area using very fine needles.  The sensation is that of an electric toothbrush being held against your skin, you will feel the vibrations but you should not feel any discomfort. I will always work with you at this stage, giving you breaks if you need them. The process normally takes about one hour, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements. After the treatment your eyes might be a bit puffy and sensitive. I advise you do not drive a vehicle immediately after an eye treatment.

THE RETOUCH

A second appointment is needed 4-12 weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 30-60 minute appointment to add more pigment to the eye area. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more color. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, I advise you always come back for your retouch.

Q&As

Q.  Will I need to remove my eye makeup for the treatment?

A.  It is required that eye makeup is removed for any eye treatment. However, please wear your usual makeup for the appointment so we can see your style.  Alternatively, you can send me your picture in advance before the appointment.

Q.  My eyes are sensitive. I’m worried about blinking and my eyes watering during the treatment. Is that a problem?

A.  This is a normal concern for first time clients and nothing to worry about.  It will not be a problem if you are prone to blinking or your eyes water.

Q.  Will my eyes swell a lot after the treatment?

A.  Swelling is relatively minimal and usually occurs for up to 12 to 24 hours after the treatment. Ice packs can be used to minimize this.

Q.  What do I expect immediately after the treatment?

A.  It’s possible that your eyes could be a little watery after the treatment. As a precaution, I recommend that you should have someone to drive you home after having an eye treatment.  You should be prepared for the color intensity to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the treatment. This will subside and become lighter as the skin heals. This process can take up to 10 days.

Q.  Can I apply mascara after the treatment?

A.  You should wait until the treatment area has healed before applying makeup. If you have had an eye treatment, a new mascara is recommended.
